ဘယ်လိုရှက်တာလဲ

ရှက်တယ်လို့ပြောချင်ရင် အင်္ဂလိပ်စာမှာ အသုံးများတဲ့ Adjective နှစ်လုံးရှိပါတယ်။ embarrassed နဲ့ shy တို့ပါ။ အဓိပ္ပါယ်နည်းနည်းကွာတဲ့အတွက် ဝါကျထဲမှာ မှန်အောင်သုံးနိုင်ဖို့ ဂရုပြုသင့်ပါတယ်။

embarrassed ဆိုတာ ရှက်ကိုးရှက်ကန်းဖြစ်တာ၊ စိတ်ကသိကအောက်ဖြစ်တာ။ အမှားတစ်ခုခုလူရှေ့မှာလုပ်မိလို့ဖြစ်စေ၊ သူများက လုပ်လိုက်တာ ပြောလိုက်တာကြောင့် မျက်နှာပူရတာမျိုးကို embarrassed လို့သုံးပါတယ်။ embarrassed က ashamed နဲ့ ဆင်တူပါတယ်။

shy ကတော့ မိမိရဲ့ ပင်ကိုယ်သဘာဝအရကို ရှက်တတ်တာမျိုးပါ။ ရှိုးတိုးရှန့်တန့်ဖြစ်တတ်တာမျိုး။ ကိုယ့်ရဲ့ nature ပေါ့။

ဥပမါဝါကျလေးတွေကြည့်ပါ။

1. I was embarrassed when he called my nickname in front of my new girlfriend.

သူ ငါ့ရဲ့ရည်းစားအသစ်စက်စက်လေးရှေ့မှာ ငါ့ရဲ့ နာမည်ပြောင်ကိုခေါ်လိုက်တော့ ငါ့မှာ မျက်နှာပူလိုက်တာ၊ ရှက်လိုက်တာ။ (သူများက ကိုယ့်ကိုတခုခုလုပ်လိုက်လို့ ရှက်တာ embarrassed)

2. He was very embarrassed when he realized only when he picked up the tab that he had forgotten his wallet at home.

စားသောက်ပြီး ပိုက်ဆံရှင်းမယ်လုပ်တော့မှ အိမ်မှာ ပိုက်ဆံအိတ်မေ့ကျန်ခဲ့တာ သိလိုက်လို့ သူ အရမ်းရှက်သွားတယ်။ (သူပိုက်ဆံအိတ်မေ့ခဲ့တဲ့ အမှားကြောင့် ရှက်ကိုးရှက်ကန်းဖြစ်တာ embarrassed)

3. Bo Bo likes the girl but he is too shy to speak to her.

ဘိုဘိုဟာ ကောင်မလေးကိုကြိုက်ပေမဲ့ အရမ်းရှက်တတ်လွန်းလို့ စကားသွားမပြောရဲဘူး။

4. Whenever I see her, she just gives me a shy smile.

ငါသူ့ကိုတွေ့လိုက်တိုင်း ရှက်ပြုံးပဲ ပြုံးပြတတ်တယ်။

ဒီဝါကျတွေမှာတော့ shy ဟာ ပင်ကိုယ်သဘာဝအရ ရှက်တတ်တာမျိုးပါ။

shy of doing something ဆိုတဲ့ အသုံးကိုလည်းမှတ်ပါ။

တခုခုလုပ်ဖို့ တွန့်နေတာ၊ ရွံ့ နေတတ်တာ။

5. I am not shy of firing the lazy workers.

အပျင်းထူတဲ့ အလုပ်သမားတွေကို အလုပ်ထုတ်ဖို့ ငါဟာ တွန့်ရွံ့ နေမှာမဟုတ်ဘူး။

shy ရဲ့ ရှေ့မှာ noun တစ်ခုကို hyphen ခံပြီး compound adjective လေးတွေ သုံးတာလေးတွေလည်း မှတ်ထားပါ။ ဥပမါ....

camera-shy (adjective) ကင်မရာရှေ့ရှက်တတ်သော၊ ဓါတ်ပုံရိုက်ရမှာ ရှက်တတ်သော

work-shy (adjective) အလုပ်လုပ်စရာရှိလျှင် ရှောင်တတ်သော၊ ရှောင်ဖယ်ဖယ်လုပ်တတ်သော။

အဲလိုမျိုး ရှောင်ဖယ်ရှောင်ဖယ် ဝေးဝေးနေတာမျိုး ခပ်ကင်းကင်းနေတာမျိုးကိုပဲ to shy away from something/ to shy away from doing something ဆိုပြီးသုံးပါတယ်။

6. Throughout his life, he has shied away from any serious relationship.

သူ့ဘဝတလျှောက်လုံး (မိန်းမတစ်ယောက်နဲ့) အတည်တကျ အလေးအနက်ပေါင်းသင်းတာမျိုးကို သူရှောင်ခဲ့တယ်။

English is easy to learn, but hard to master. ဒါပေမဲ့ ပုံမှန်လေ့လာနေရင် ပိုသဘောပေါက်လာပြီး ပိုကျွမ်းကျင်လာပါလိမ့်မယ်။
