ကျွန်တော်ပြုံးမိတယ်။

Even though I hurt, see, I smile

နာကျင်နေပေမယ့်လည်း၊ ကြည့် ဒီမှာ ကျွန်တော် ပြုံးနေပါတယ်။

I know God is working so I smile

ဘုရားကလည်း သူ့အလုပ်သူ မှန်မှန်ကန်ကန်လုပ်နေမယ်ဆိုတာသိလို့ ကျွန်တော် ပြုံးနေပါတယ်

Even though I've been here for a while

ဒီမိုးဒီရေဒီလိုအခက်အခဲတွေထဲမှာ ကျွန်တော် ခဏရောက်နေသော်လည်း

What you do? I smile

မင်းဘာလုပ်မလဲဆို ကျွန်တော်ပြုံးနေပါမယ်။

လုပ်ပါ၊ ပြုံးပစ်လိုက်စမ်းပါ။

It's so hard to look up when you've been down

မင်း စိတ်ဓာတ်နေကျချိန်မှာ အရာအားလုံးဟာ တိုးတက်ဖို့ သိပ်ခက်ခဲတာပေါ့။

Sure would hate to see you give up now

အရာအားလုံးအခုမင်းစွန့်လွှတ်ပစ်မယ်၊ လက်လျှော့လိုက်မယ်ဆိုတာကို ငါ မမြင်ချင်ဘူးကွာ။

အားလုံးဟာ ဘုရားရဲ့အစောင့်အရှောက်အောက်က လူများပါပဲ၊ 

မင်းပြုံးလိုက်တဲ့အခါ မင်းဟာ အများကြီးပိုအဆင်ပြေလာတဲ့ပုံပေါက်ပါတယ်ကွာ၊ လုပ်ပါ ပြုံးသာပြုံးပစ်လိုက်စမ်းပါ။

Smile နဲ့သက်ဆိုင်တဲ့အသုံးလေးတွေ

(1) smile to oneself 

ကိုယ့်ဘာသာ ပြုံးနေမိတာဆိုရင် smile to ဆိုတဲ့ အသုံး

လေး သုံးရပါတယ်။

 e.g 

Min Min read the message and smiled to himself.

မင်းမင်းက မက်ဆေ့ခ်ျ ဖတ်ပြီး သူ့ဘာသာသူ ပြုံးနေတယ်။

✖️ တစ်ယောက်ယောက်ကို ပြုံးပြတာကိုတော့ smile to မသုံးပါ။

✔️ smile at ကို သုံးရပါတယ်။

Su Su smiled at me and waved.

(2) grin > to have a big smile အားရပါးရပြုံးတာပါ။

ပါးစပ်က နားရွက်တက်ချိတ်လုမတတ်ပြုံးတယ် ဆိုတဲ့ grin from ear to ear ဆိုတဲ့ အသုံးကိုလည်း မှတ်ပါ။

e.g

The coach was grinning from ear to ear when the team scored.

အသင်းက ဂိုးသွင်းလိုက်တဲ့အချိန် နည်းပြကြီး ပြုံးနေတာများ ပါးစပ်က နားရွက်တက်ချိတ်တော့မယ့်အတိုင်း။

(3) beam > to give a big happy smile for a long time, because you are very pleased or proud 

ကျေနပ်လို့ ဂုဏ်ယူရလို့ အချိန်ကြာပြီး အားရပါးရပြုံးတာကို beam လို့ သုံးပါတယ်။

e.g

She beamed with pride because she got the scholorship.

ပညာသင်ဆုရသွားလို့ သူ(မ)က ဂုဏ်ယူစွာနဲ့ ပြုံးနေခဲ့တာ။

(3) smirk > to smile in an unpleasant way, for example because you are pleased about someone else’s bad luck or because you know something that someone else does not know

တခြားသူမသိတဲ့ အရာတစ်ခုခုကို ကိုယ်ကသိနေတဲ့အခါ (သို့) တစ်ယောက်ယောက် ကံမကာင်းတာကို ကျေနပ်တဲ့အခါ ပြုံးတဲ့အပြုံးမျိုးပါ၊ လှောင်ပြုံးလေးပေါ့။

e.g

The children smirked when the teacher dropped all the books on the floor. 

ဆရာက စာအုပ်တွေအားလုံး ကြမ်းပြင်ပေါ် လွတ်ကျသွားတာကို ကလေးတွေက လှောင်ပြုံးပြုံးပြီး ကြည့်နေကြတယ်။

Smile ရဲ့ collocation တွေလည်း မှတ်ကြစို့။

(1) give (somebody) a smile အပြုံးပေးတာ၊ ပြုံးပြတာ။

e.g

The boy gave a friendly smile to me.

ကောင်လေးက ကျွန်တော့်ကို ဖော်ဖော်ရွေရွေ ပြုံးပြတယ်။

(2) flash (somebody) a smile (=give a quick smile) 

ဖြတ်ကနဲ ပြုံးပြတာ။

e.g

She flashed me a smile.

သူ(မ)ရဲ့ နှုတ်ခမ်းမှာ ကျွန်တော့်ကို ရည်ရွယ်တဲ့ အပြုံးလေး

ဖြတ်ပြေးသွားတယ်။

(3) have a smile on your face/lips 

ပြုံးပန်းဆင်ထားတာ၊ ပြုံးပြတာပါပဲ။

e.g

She had a broad smile on her face in this photo.

ဒီဓာတ်ပုံထဲမှာ သူ(မ)က အားရပါးရ ပြုံးထားတာ။

(4) force/manage a smile (=smile when you do not really feel happy or friendly)

စိတ်မပျော်တဲ့အချိန် (သို့) သိပ်မရင်းနှီးသေးတဲ့အချိန်မှာ ကြိုးစားပြီး ပြုံးပြတာမျိုးပါ။

e.g

I knew she managed a smile at the last night party.

မနေ့ညက ပါတီမှာ သူ(မ) ကြိုးစားပြီး ပြုံးပြနေရတာ 

ကျွန်တော်သိတယ်။

(5)wear a smile (=have a smile on your face)

ပြုံးပန်းဆင်တာ၊ ပြုံးပြတာပါ။

e.g

She always wears a beautiful smile.

(6) return somebody’s smile (=smile back at someone)

တစ်ယောက်ယောက်ရဲ့ အပြုံးကို တုန့်ပြန်ပြုံးပြတာပါ။

e.g

He returned my smile.

သူက ကျွန်တော့်ကို ပြန်ပြီးပြုံးပြတယ်။

(7) somebody breaks into a smile/somebody’s face breaks into a smile (=they suddenly smile)

ရုတ်တရက်ပြုံးလိုက်တာပါ။

e.g

When he heard a good news, he broke into a smile.

သူ သတင်းကောင်းတစ်ခုကို ကြားတော့ ဗြုန်းဆို ချက်ချင်း

ကြီး ပြုံးသွားတယ်။

(8) a smile spreads across somebody’s face (=they smile)

ပြုံးတာပါ။

(9) somebody’s smile broadens (=it gets bigger)

အပြုံးက ပိုပီပြင်လာတာ။

(10) somebody’s smile fades/vanishes (=they stop smiling)

ပြုံးနေတာကို ရပ်လိုက်တာပါ။ 

a winnig smile, shy smile တို့လို ဆရာဒေါက်တာစိုးသန်း ဆီက သင်ယူထားတဲ့ အပြုံးတွေနဲ့ တခြား အသုံးလေးတွေ ဆက်ရေးပေးပါ့မယ်။ 

ပြုံးပါ...ပြုံးပါ... လှလှပပလေး ပြုံးပါ (၂) မှာ ဆက်ဖတ်ပေးပါ။
