Adjectives ending in –ing and – ed

There are many adjectives ending in –ing and –ed, for example: boring and bored, interesting and interested, surprising and surprised etc.

-ing နှင့်ဆုံးသော adjective နှင့် -ed နှင့်ဆုံးသော adjective အများအပြားရှိပါသည်။ ဥပမာ - boring and bored, interesting and interested, surprising and surprised etc.

သူတို့နှစ်ခုဘာကွာလဲ ယှဉ်ကြည့်ရအောင်။  

My job is boring.

ငါရဲ့အလုပ်က စိတ်ဝင်စားဖို့မကောင်းဘူး၊ ပျင်းစရာကြီး။

I’m bored with my job.

ငါ့အလုပ်ကို ငါ ငြီးငွေ့နေပြီ။

My job is tiring.

ငါ့အလုပ်က ပင်ပန်းတယ်။

I get very tired doing my job.

ငါ့အလုပ်လုပ်ရတာ တအားပင်ပန်းတယ်။

In these examples, the –ing adjective tells you about the job and the –ed adjective tells you how somebody feels about the job.

ဒီဥပမာတွေမှာ ing adjective က အလုပ်အကြောင်းကိုပြောပြီးတော့၊ ed adjective က အလုပ်နဲ့ပက်သက်ပြီး တစ်ယောက်ယောက်ခံစားနေရတဲ့ခံစားချက်ကို ပြောပြတယ်။

ဥပမာတချို့ဆက်ကြည့်ရအောင်ပါ။

Thuzar thinks that politics is interesting.

နိုင်ငံရေးက စိတ်ဝင်စားစရာကောင်းတယ်လို့ သူဇာက ထင်တယ်။

Thuzar is interested in politics.

သူဇာက နိုင်ငံရေးကို စိတ်ဝင်စားတယ်။

It was surprising that he passed the exam.

သူစာမေးပွဲအောင်သွားတာ အံ့ဩစရာပဲ။

Everybody was surprised that he passed the exam.

သူစာမေးပွဲအောင်သွားတာကို လူတိုင်းက အံ့ဩနေကြတယ်။

The film was disappointing.

ရုပ်ရှင်က စိတ်ပျက်စရာကောင်းတယ်။

We were disappointed with the film. We expected it to be much better.

ရုပ်ရှင်ကို တို့တွေ စိတ်ပျက်ကုန်ကြတယ်၊ တို့က အများကြီးပိုကောင်းမယ်လို့ မှန်းထားခဲ့တာ။

ပြန်ချုပ်ရမယ်ဆိုရင် “တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်၊ တစ်စုံတစ်ခုအကြောင်းကို ဖော်ပြပြောဆိုဖို့ -ing adjective ကို သုံးရပြီးတော့ တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်ရဲ့ တစ်ခုခုနဲ့ပက်သက်တဲ့ခံစားချက်၊ သူခံစားရတာကို ဖော်ပြပြောဆိုဖို့ -ed adjective ကို သုံးရတယ်။”
