have + something + done

We use ‘have something done’ to say that we arrange for somebody else to do something for us.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အတွက် တစ်ခုခုလုပ်ပေးဖို့ တခြားတစ်ယောက်ကို လုပ်ပေးခိုင်းတယ်ဆိုတာကို ဖော်ပြပြောဆိုဖို့ have something done ကို သုံးနိုင်ပါတယ်။

Daw Mya repaired the roof. ဆိုရင် ဒေါ်မြက ခေါင်မိုးကို သူ(မ)ဘာသာ ပြုပြင်တာပါ။

Daw Mya had the roof repaired. ဆိုရင် ဒေါ်မြက ခေါင်မိုးကို တခြားတစ်ယောက်ကို ပြင်ခိုင်းတာပါ။

 

I will have my hair cut next Sunday.

လာမယ့်တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့မှာ ကျွန်တော် ဆံပင်ညှပ်မယ်။ (ဆိုင်ကိုသွားညှပ်မယ်)

ü  ဒီနေရာမှာ သတိထားရမှာက word order ပါ။ past participle (V3) က object ရဲ့နောက်မှာ ရေးရပါမယ်။

Your hair looks nice. မင်းရဲ့ဆံပင်ကြည့်ကောင်းတယ်။

Have you had it cut? မင်း ဆံပင်ညှပ်ထားတာလား။

We are having the house painted at the moment?

ငါတို့ အခု အိမ်ဆေးသုတ်နေကြတယ်။

I think you should have that coat cleaned.

မင်း ဒီကုတ်အင်္ကျီကို သန့်ရှင်းခိုင်းသင့်ပြီလို့ ငါထင်တယ်။

You can also say ‘get something done’ instead of ‘have something done’ (mainly in informal spoken English).

အပြောစကားမှာတော့ have something done နေရာမှာ get something done ကိုလည်း အစားထိုး ဖော်ပြပြောဆိုနိုင်ပါတယ်။

I think you should get your hair cut really short.

မင်း ဆံပင်ကို တကယ်ကို တိုတိုလေးညှပ်သင့်တယ်လို့ ငါ ထင်တယ်။

Sometimes ‘have something done’ has a different meaning.

have something done မှာ တခြားအဓိပ္ပါယ်ရှိပါသေးတယ်။

Ko Aung and Ma Su had all their money stolen while they were on holiday.

ကိုအောင်နဲ့မဆုတို့ အားလုံးရက်ခရီးထွက်နေတုန်းမှာ သူတို့ရဲ့ပိုက်ဆံတွေအားလုံး အခိုးခံလိုက်ရတယ်။

ဒီစာကြောင်းမှာ ကိုအောင်နဲ့မဆုက သူတို့ပိုက်ဆံတွေကို တခြားတစ်ယောက်ကို ခိုးခိုင်းလိုက်တာ မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။

We use ‘have something done’ to say that something happens to somebody or their belongings. Usually what happens is not nice.

မကောင်းတဲ့အရာတစ်ခုခုဖြစ်တဲ့အခါ အဲ့တာက ဘယ်သူနဲ့ပက်သက်တယ်၊ ဘယ်သူပိုင်တယ်ဆိုတာကို ဖော်ပြဖို့လည်း have somthing done ကို သုံးနိုင်ပါတယ်။

 

U Kyaw had his noe broken in a fight.

ရန်ပွဲတစ်ခုမှာ ဦးကျော် နှာရိုးကျိုးသွားတယ်။

ဦးကျော်က နှာရိုးကို သူများကို ချိုးခိုင်းတာမဟုတ်။

Did I tell about Muyar? မူယာအကြောင်း ငါပြောပြီးပြီလား။

She had her handbag stolen last week. အရင်အပတ်က သူ့ပိုက်ဆံအိတ် အခိုးခံရတယ်။

မူယာက သူ့ပိုက်ဆံအိတ်ကို ခိုးခိုင်းတာမဟုတ်။
